Recently I bought from a Boot Car Sale, in the suburbs of my town, a very old Bear.It is a  humble toy but the sparkle of its huge brown eyes have something mesmerizing! 

As time goes by I become more and more attached to it. The old man who sold me the toy has an antique well cared car.  

He was very polite and quiet and gave me the impression that he was so relieved when he wrapped  carefully the Bear and sold it to me, as if he was trusting  me with a precious gift. 

I was tempted to go again, hopefully to find him there, and get to know him better. The following month, I was at the Boot Sale very early in the morning. 

He was there! 

I approached him holding two cups of coffee and sat on a little chair next to him. 

“A bit chilly today, isn’t it! can I offer you a coffee?”

“Thank you, very kind of you! Last time you bought the Bear, right?” 

“Yes, that’s right. The Bear with the Bright eyes!” 

“The Bright eyes”, he said, and turned his eyes away from me!

“You loved that Bear, yes?”

“She had the brightest eyes in the whole world. She was the prettiest woman! We have lived together for thirty years. She died last year… I couldn’t bear to see the Bright eyes of the Bear she loved. Please take a good care of it. The Bear knows all her secrets. She was talking to him as if it was the child we never had.”

I was speechless! Somehow I knew that the Bear was trying to tell me something!
